Here is your mini guide to all the latest restaurants and eateries that have opened over the past month. Because we all love trying something new!

It’s no secret that South Aussie’s love to explore everything new across the state. Blessed with incredible food, wine, and local businesses, we’ve compiled a list of all the newest restaurants that’ve opened over the past month. On top of the newest restaurants, we’ve also included a couple of new dessert and café spots, for those low-key days.


Lombra is the latest Italian destination from the team behind Bocelli on Hutt Street and Est Ovest on Angas Street, with owner Davide La Scala at the helm. Lombra will be providing Italian cuisine inspired by the Amalfi Coast & Campania region of Italy. The beverage menu will be reminiscent of the Venetian bar season.

Zayt and Zaatar

With the success of the Campbelltown location, Zayt and Zaatar have decided to open up in a new neck of the woods at West Lakes. Zayt and Zaatar pride themselves on Lebanese fine dining, with flavours and recipes inherited from previous generations.

Valentino’s has recently opened in the heart of the city so get ready to indulge in your favourite pastries and pizza in this stunning new venue. The ‘Tavola Calda’, directly translating to ‘hot table’, and is an Italian deli and antipasto bar, bringing you some of the best Italian food Adelaide has to offer!

Horizon Restaurant

Ideally located on the picturesque property of the Barossa’s 1837 Winery, a new destination restaurant is patiently waiting to burst onto the scene. Horizon at 1837 will bring an elegant, sophisticated dining experience but don’t let the high-class vibe fool you, this place isn’t just your special occasion venue, it’s somewhere you’ll want to return to time and time again.

Kintaro Sushi

Exciting news for all you sushi lovers in Oaklands Park, Kintaro Sushi are new residents in the Fresh Food Mall in Westfield Marion. Their passionate, highly-skilled chefs produce a wide selection of traditional Japanese specialties, including sushi, sashimi, soup, udon, ramen, dumplings, cold rolls, salads and more.

The Kitchen, Bec Hardy Wines

McLaren Vale Cellar Door, Bec Hardy Wines, expanded its visitor experience in April with the launch of a new food experience, The Kitchen at Bec Hardy. With a philosophy of all things local, seasonal and sustainable, the kitchen is now open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

Hong Tam

Hong Tam aka Pho Hong Tam, are now expanding its reach with an additional location being opened in Salisbury. The restaurant specialises in Vietnamese beef noodle soup (Pho) and other traditional Vietnamese dishes.

Press Food & Wine

Press Food and Wine isn’t technically new BUT the restaurant has completed its latest renovations and it looks bloody brilliant. Alongside the fantastic renos, the talented Chef Tom Tilbury has launched a brand new menu, which commenced Wednesday 13 April.

Okami Restaurant

There’s not much better than an all-you-can-eat menu and now Adelaide has been blessed with not one but TWO new all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurants with Okami Restaurant opening its second SA location in Glenunga.

After Luciano’s unfortunate closure late last year, the luxurious Marina restaurant has reopened on the down-low with new owners, a new kitchen team, and a fresh new outlook. Luciano’s is known for its signature dish – a house-made gnocchetti with South Australian crab, tomato, chilli, and mascarpone.

While not “new” as such, the popular Italian laneway restaurant has had a complete facelift from paint to pasta with authentic Italian food at the forefront. The dreary inside has been painted, opened up, tiled and styled. The large windows, concrete floors and white tiled feature walls make the space open and inviting with a casual bistro-style layout.

Dessert Factory

7 May marked the grand opening of one of Adelaide’s newest dessert eateries, The Dessert Factory. The eatery’s offerings include individual cheesecakes, cakes, cupcakes, thick shakes, sinful smoothies, as well as the divine sounding, cake bucket!

Saudade Custard Tarts

Adelaide’s favourite Portuguese custard tarts purveyor, Saudade, has finally opened its exciting new store at the Grote Street entrance of the Central Market. After running a hugely successful brick-and-mortar shop at the Mitcham Square Shopping Centre, it’s great to see Saudade coming full circle by opening its second store at the place where it all began.

Mediterranean food meets Middle Eastern at one of the Adelaide CBD’s favourite little cafés, Ballaboosta. The little café, which is currently located in a converted laundromat on Halifax Street, has now set its eyes on a second location in Burnside.
