Maison Clement Bastille Day Menu | Friday 14 July

A stunning and affordable French eatery on Currie Street, Maison Clement is Adelaide’s authentic slice of Paris. Their French food experience is created by executive chef and owner Clemént Labaere.

Using local South Australian as well as French ingredients, Maison Clement produced a 4-course menu to celebrate Bastille Day on Friday 14 July. Starting with a smoked trout canapé, you’ll have the choice between two dishes for three scrumptious courses that follow. Booking is essential.

Le tour du Marché: The French Market Tour | Friday 14 and Saturday 15 July

Rediscover the Adelaide Central Markets in this walking tour, guided by French speaking Fringe performer Arnaud Bénassy. With a complimentary glass of champagne from the French Wine Centre’s pop-up ‘Impromptu’, you’ll get to learn a little Français and how to sing La Marseillaise, while discovering facts about the historic Bastille Day. All the while, you’ll get to indulge in the délicieux flavours of the Market’s most authentic French fromage, charcuterie and patisserie.

Monet-inspired Paint ‘n’ Sip class | Friday 14 July

Creatives are in for a treat this Bastille day, as an unforgettable art experience awaits. Get your gang together to sip at a complimentary délicieux glass of French champagne as you get inspired by the works of famous French impressionist artist, Claude Monet. Book your ticket to sip and paint away the evening of Bastille Day for just $64.84. You’ll have the opportunity to unleash your creativity to create your own Monet-inspired masterpiece as teachers take you through the traditional techniques of paint application, pattern and blending in impressionist style.

French Variety Show with Lou Blackwell and the French Set | Friday 14 July

Head down to the Gov to be serenaded with ‘variété française’ by Lou Blackwell and the French Set. To celebrate Bastille Day with their variety show of French chansons, award-winning cabaret singer Lou Blackwell is bringing together a dream band of Adelaide’s finest musos. Starring the brilliant Mark Simeon Ferguson on piano, Julian Ferraretto on violin, Tom Pulford on saxophone and clarinet, Dylan Paul on double bass and Josh Baldwin on drums.

You can even dine French classics or the Gov’s main menu as they paying homage to French singers and songwriters, including Charles Trenet, Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, Yves Montand, Edith Piaf, Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Aznavour and more. You’ll be transported away to the concert halls of Paris with their savoir-faire performance, be sure to snag your ticket.

Bastille Black Tie Dinner at the Intercontinental | Friday 14 July

Bring out your finest evening wear; La Chaine des Rotisseurs South Australia is hosting a Black Tie dinner at the Intercontinental. You’ll be in for an evening of meaningful camaraderie and elevated dining. You can see the full 6-course bespoke French-inspired menu on the event page, which is the way to book your ticket.

North says, “We’ll have standing-up champagne and canapés, and of course dinner will be French themed. We’ll also have the chef come out and explain what he’s cooking. It will be a fantastic night.”

This Bastille day, Scoffed is offering a French cuisine class, starring wines of the French variety such as sauvignon blanc, merlot, pinot noir and chardonnay. Following Bastille Day, the celebrations continue on Saturday 15 July. Again you’ll find the Pop-up Crepe bar and Champagne Bar ‘Impromptu’ by The French Wine Centre, and the rest of the day full of live music. Enjoy roaming through the stalls with some festive face paint, and celebrate.

A Prayer for the Wild at Heart | Friday 14 and Saturday 15 July

Across two days starring a delectable 5-course menu, this highly anticipated event will showcase the finest French classics, paying homage to the homeland of the venue’s beloved team. Located just off of Hurtle Square, the restaurant takes its name from Tennessee Williams’ play “Stairs to the Roof.” With its captivating atmosphere and superb cuisine, you’ll be enchanted as you dine.

Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité by The Corinthian Singers | Sunday 16 July

Commemorating Bastille Day with an all-French concert entitled Liberté Egalité Fraternité, you can behold the musical beauty of auditioned chamber choir, the Corinthian Singers of Adelaide, on Sunday 16 July. Featuring French choral music on a scale of contemplative to heroic, the programme will star also works for keyboard, solo voice and flute. Conductor Matthew Atherton presents a celebration of Bastille Day with works by Debussy, Ravel, and Saint-Saëns, naturally concluding the session with La Marseillaise.

Bastille Day Dinner by Pinehill at Glenelg | Sunday 16 July

There’s only five tickets left for this one at time of writing: indulging in this 4-course dinner event to celebrate Bastille Day, you’ll receive a glass of Crémant upon arrival before you are treated to a menu of mouth-watering French favourites. If you couldn’t get enough or if you missed out on getting a taste of Clemént Labaere’s cooking on Friday, this is your chance to try by his vibrant, delicious and nourishing dishes. There will be a list of the best wines from France available for purchase on the evening.
