Along with hoarding new stationary and compulsively buying gym gear that may never see the inside of a gym, indoor plants are right up there on my list of obsessions. Every time I head to Bunnings for some super glue, I end up walking out with half of their pretty potted plants. My wallet hates me, but my home and office are beautiful.
Given my soft spot for glossy leaves and ferns of any description, the Adelaide frenzy for The Jungle Collective’s Christmas event didn’t surprise me at all. 18,000 plant-mad South Aussies showed an interest in the event on Facebook, and all of the pre-allocated time slots were booked out days before the weekend’s plant sale.
But it got me thinking… surely all these amazing plants could be bought from local vendors, rather than an interstate business. And surely I didn’t need to wait for these one-off events to happen. Where could I find these beauties year round?
Well luckily for me, I discovered a group of like-minded, indoor-plant obsessed Adelaidians, who shared some of their local secrets with me. Here’s a list we compiled of the best indoor plant shops in Adelaide—so please support local and go check some of them out! We promise it’s worth it (and your instagram feed will never have looked better!).
