Say goodbye to neutral colours and hello to neon hues that promise to make a comeback this Spring… go bold and make a splash at the Morphettville Spring Carnival!

While everyone knows about Melbourne Cup – referred to as “the race that stops a nation”, you don’t need to travel to be a part of the action! Morphettville is hosting six exciting days of entertainment.

From an Irish themed day to one of Australia’s most prestigious thoroughbred races, here are the dates you need to have in your calendar this Spring. The party starts here!

8 October | Guinness on Guineas Irish Spring Fling Day

Celebrate the start of the Spring Carnival at Morphettville’s Irish Spring Fling! With an incredible Irish-Australian community in Adelaide, Guinness on Guineas goes wild with Irish beers and entertainment. Enjoy one of the premium hospitality packages on offer, and then get ShamRocked with U2 cover band, Vertigo.

Treat yourself to a 4-course luncheon package between $150-$175, situated perfectly with views of the finishing straight and Winning Post of Morphettville Racecourse.

For a party of epic proportions, the Irish Spring Fling Party will be held in the Diva Lounge located on the ground floor of the grandstand with an outdoor terrace overlooking the Winning Post and Mounting Yard.

If you’re looking for something cheap and cheerful, general admission for the day is $30, with children under 16 free.

15 October | The Everest & Caulfield Cup Day

The Everest & Caulfield Cup Day is the second thrilling day in the Spring racing calendar. Watch the richest race on turf, The Everest, live from Sydney, then tune into Melbourne to experience the prestigious Caulfield Cup.

Gear up ladies and gents, because the Canadian Club Giddy Up Club is back in action, with the VIP options already sold out ahead of time. Experience all the thrills of the Spring Carnival in a premium location, with a 4-hour beverage package, food, and betting facilities on hand.

Private suites, diva lounge access and luncheon options are also available.

22 October | Cox Plate Day

The Cox Plate is Moonee Valley’s biggest Spring Carnival Day and one of Morphettville’s best. While everyone is welcome, Cox Plate does become a bit of a “Gentleman’s Day”, where many a well-tailored suit will make an appearance.

The Cox Plate is a thoroughbred horse race for horses aged three years and older, over a distance of 2040 metres. The race is Australia’s second richest weight-for-age race with stake money of $3,000,000, behind the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (ATC).

Follow the racing action on the big screens, while enjoying Adelaide’s Spring weather and quality food and wine.

Alongside other Spring Carnival events, racegoers will be able to elect premium experiences such as the Restaurant 1873 luncheon, CC Giddy Up Club, access to the Diva Lounge and private suite options.

Moreover, “The Stables” offers an exceptional dining experience on Level 1 of the main grandstand, which overlooks the Mounting Yard – perfect for race action viewing. With the inclusion of a 2-course luncheon and 5-hour beverage package, “The Stables” is a great option to elevate your race day experience.

29 October | Victoria Derby & Golden Eagle Day

Victoria Derby & Golden Eagle Day is the day for the fashionistas. Dust off your fascinators, because this black & white themed affair will drip with style, class, and sophistication.

In other words, if you want to go to the races but fluorescent floral frocks have historically put you off, the Derby is the day for you.

Sydney’s Golden Eagle and Victoria’s Derby will be live on the big screen, alongside Adelaide’s premium local racing.

1 November | Melbourne Cup Day

If you only manage to attend one event for the Spring Carnival, make it the race that stops a nation. Melbourne Cup is Australia’s most prestigious annual thoroughbred race, designed for horses three years old and over.

The 3200m race is the richest “two-mile” handicap in the world, as well as one of the richest turf races. Off the track, fashion is a major focus of the day – with the event single-handedly keeping milliners across the country in business. Fashion continues to be an exciting element of the races in SA, with Morphettville transforming into the main hub for Melbourne Cup festivities.

Experience the Melbourne Cup in style at the Champagne on the Champagne Lawns event, brought to you by GH Mumm. Be the envy of your friends as you enjoy 5 hours of bubbles, a roving cocktail menu and entertainment. It’s a party not to miss!

5 November | Stakes Day

The party wraps up at Morphettville with a bang on Stakes Day. The concluding day of festivities features the illustrious $3 million Group 1 VRC Champions Stakes (2000m) – the spring grand final for Australia’s best middle-distance horses.

Stakes Day is the perfect day to welcome the warmer weather and kick off the holiday season, with drinks packages, spectacular entertainment, and a world-class atmosphere you must see to believe.
