Anzac Day is a time of reflection for both past and present soldiers. This is your guide to the public events and services happening across the state.

Anzac Day is held annually on Friday, April 25, with services held in both metropolitan and rural areas across the state. It is a time of reflection and commemoration for past and present soldiers who selflessly honour and serve our country.

SERVICES

The Dawn Service is the largest ANZAC Day ritual nationwide. The main Dawn Service in SA will be held at the National War Memorial at 6am. The memorial is located on the corner of Kintore Avenue and North Terrace and is open to all members of the public.

ANZAC DAY MARCH

The Anzac Day March will commence at 9:30am from the corner of North Terrace and Gawler Place. The march will make its way to to the final destination – the Cross of Sacrifice in Pennington Gardens, North Adelaide. Spectators are invited to line both North Terrace and King William Street to watch those participating.

CROSS OF SACRIFICE REMEMBRANCE SERVICE

After the Anzac Day March, The traditional Service of Remembrance is held at the Cross of Sacrifice in Pennington Gardens, North Adelaide, at 11:15am. The March represents the walk to the grave and the service at the Cross of Sacrifice represents the burial. 

The Cross of Sacrifice Memorial is located in the gardens opposite St Peters Cathedral and salutes the men and women who died during the Great War 1914 – 1919. An Ataturk Tribute and Eternal Flame also feature in the garden.

The general public is welcome to attend this service. 

RAAF FLY PAST

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) aircraft will conduct flypasts around Australia in support of Anzac Day commemorations.
