Fleurieu Peninsula

Your guide to the hottest new venues on the Fleurieu Peninsula

Adelaide’s South is growing faster than ever with new bars, restaurants and breweries popping up constantly just in time for the warmer months.

It’s the most popular tourist destination in the state and the locals of the Fleurieu are continuing to prove why with a host of new bars, restaurants, cafes and even breweries popping up left, right and centre. We’ve put together a little guide of some of the new kids on the block for you to check out on your next trip down south.

Beach Road Pizza

Opened by a third-generation pizza maker, this humble Christies Beach pizzeria has made quite an impact on the locals since its opening in August. Offering all the classics you know and love, Beach Road Pizza also has a great range of vegan options with its Vegan Lamb Yiros Pizza one of the most popular on the menu.

Available for both dine-in, pick up or delivery, if you’re after a good slice, this is the place for you.

Fleet Street Social

Dripping in 50s retro charm, Fleet Street Social’s laid-back and funky vibe is the perfect setting for an arvo drink and a boogie and with its ideal location in the heart of Port Noarlunga, it perfectly fills the South’s cocktail-bar-shaped hole.

Open daily from 11am, the fun yet relaxed venue offers tasty share plates, custom cocktails and has regular live music and Sunday sessions. This little place is the perfect spot for those perfect summer days and long balmy nights.

Haselgrove Wines

As McLaren Vale’s first rooftop cellar door, it’s no wonder Haselgrove Wines has become one of the must-see stops on many a wine tour. The new venue means members of the public can now sample the vineyard’s award-winning wines while also enjoying 360-degree, uninterrupted views of McLaren Flat.

Pair your wine with a hand-stretched pizza or gourmet platter and you’ve got yourself the perfect setting.

Noori

Another gorgeous café, bar and “hideout” is entering the coastal town’s bar scene with Noori promising to “speak to the love of locals” and highlight SA (and international) producers through their selection of bites and extensive wine list.

Tucked away at the end of an alleyway, the thoughtful design and intimate setting play with warmth and charm to create a space for friends to unwind and settle in for the night, away from the outside world. A seasonal range of Spanish-inspired share plates are on offer to compliment the eclectic and local bar menu.

Silver Sands Beach Club

Silver Sands Beach Club is the newest venture for the renowned wine critic who, along with his business partner, DJ and food vendor Mark Kamleh, has turned the old Aldinga Bay Surf Life Saving Club restaurant into the mid-coasts newest go-to venue.

Operating from mid-arvo ‘til night, the beachside venue suits both passers by or those who want to settle in for the day with its menu boasting a Mediterranean-Italian flair. With a strong focus on local beer, wine and produce, the venue has become somewhat of a hub for local enthusiasts with a large range of funky non-alcoholic drinks also available.

Singapore Circus

Located inside the iconic d’Arenberg Cube, Singapore Circus is a melting pot of South-East Asian cuisine, replacing the former Cube Restaurant with a more fun and affordable offering. Items to look out for are the Balinese duck, chilli mud crab and the classic Singaporean laksa.

The fun, colourful interior is orchestrated while being a sensory overload and a little chaotic all at the same time. Very much in line with the general vibe of the d’Arenberg Cube.

Vale Brewing Taphouse, Restaurant and Bar

Boasting a 200 person capacity, the newly opened Vale Taphouse features 14 taps with Vale Brewing favourites, as well as Fox Hat and Three Oaks Cider on pour. The micro brewing facility led by Head Brewer, Jeff Wright is also accompanied by a fully-fledged restaurant that offers the best of South Australian food and beverages atop Mclaren Flat.
