Adelaide has ramped it up this year with a range of International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrations being held by some incredible local businesses.

IWD held on Wednesday 8th March is a chance to celebrate the achievements of women around the world and marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

The day has long been celebrated in South Australia, with Showcase SA being one of the first to champion the day with a major long lunch.

They’re back again this year hosting an incredible luncheon, ‘Women in Wine’, celebrating some of the state’s most inspiring women in the wine industry – toasting the day with a vino in hand.

Adelaide has plenty to offer for IWD with a host of other events to partake in as well. Whether you’re looking to attend a breakfast, an exquisite wine tasting or wanting to release your inner artist, below there’s celebration for you.

Showcase SA International Women’s Day Lunch Showcasing Women in Wine

If you’re a self-acclaimed wine connoisseur and looking for a little fun, celebrate at Showcase SA’s International Women’s Day Long Lunch with two courses and a three-hour beverage package. Held at the National Wine Centre, you’ll be hearing from some of the wine industry’s most inspirational women including guest speakers Bec Hardy from Bec Hardy Wines and Corrina Wright from Oliver’s Taranga

Mia Margarita’s International Women’s Day Long Luncheon supporting Cystic Fibrosis South Australia

Celebrating Women in Tourism with TICSA webinar

The Tourism Industry Council of South Australia will be putting on a webinar to celebrate and gather inspiring women in the industry who make our state a great place to visit. It will be a Q&A shining a light on incredible women like Rachael Harman, General Manager of Sofitel Adelaide, Kelly Kuhn, Owner and Operator of Juggle House Experiences, Felicity Brown, Owner and Chief Pilot of Chinta Air and Tania Niven, Bank Manager at BankSA and Westpac. All the proceeds from the event will be donated to Dress for Success Adelaide.
