It’s hard to believe the July school holidays are already here! Planning activities for kids during the winter break can be tricky, so to help ease the stress for parents, we’ve created a guide featuring some of the best school holiday programs available.

Whether it’s adventure parks, performing arts, or cooking classes, these programs are a great way to keep the kids busy, while giving you the time to tackle your day. You can rest assured they’ll have a blast!

Adelaide Festival Centre ‘ON STAGE’ Performing Arts PROGRAM

Adelaide Festival Centre has a great school holiday program for young performers called On Stage. Within this, they have two different offerings: the Musical Theatre Intensive and the Technical Theatre Workshop. From July 8th, the Musical Theatre Intensive is suitable for children aged 10 to 17 years looking to enhance their triple threat skills and confidence in musical theatre. For children aged 14 to 17 years, the Festival Centre has an Introduction to Technical Theatre Workshop which starts on July 9th and provides hands-on experience in lighting, sound, and staging for budding technicians.

Adelaide University Sport’s Program

Adelaide University Sport’s School Holiday Program is for children aged 5 to11. They have dedicated coaches and staff who aim to encourage positive self-esteem and social skills through sports activities like basketball, tennis, athletics, and hockey. Younger children are introduced to sports with a modified approach to ensure the best experience possible, while older participants benefit from more structured sessions that improve their hand-eye coordination and sporting confidence. The program now includes a daily piece of fruit for each child, with an optional $10 lunch order available.

Woodhouse Adventure Park WINTER UNPLUGGED

Woodhouse Adventure Park’s ‘Drop & Go’ Day Camps offer an exciting experience for kids aged 5 to 12. Each day brings a new adventure with themed activities like outdoor laser skirmish, giant games, and even marshmallow challenges around the campfire. The program includes daily sessions on the Challenge Hill obstacle course and private Tube Slide rides (weather permitting). Drop off starts at 8:30am for a 9am kick-off, with pick-up available until 5pm.

Cirkidz CIRCUS SCHOOL PROGRAM

Cirkidz in Bowden have an exciting 2024 Wicked Winter School Holiday Program for 5 to 12 year olds where children can have a fun-filled day in their indoor circus centre. From acrobatics, to trampolining and more, the sessions like Parkour, Off The Wall, and Circus Smorgasbord promise a day filled with laughter and learning. Morning sessions run from 8:30am to 12pm, and afternoon sessions from 12:30pm to 4pm. Prices start at $55 for half-day and $100 for full-day bookings. Children are encouraged to dress comfortably, bring a water bottle, snacks, and lunch if staying all day.

ADELAIDE CENTRAL MARKET Kids Market Trail

The Adelaide Central Market is bringing back The Market Trail for kids on select dates from July 9th to July 19th. This fun experience is perfect for young foodies who are eager to discover the diverse local produce available at the market. Tickets are priced at $16 per child, with sessions running from 9am to 12pm or 2pm to 4pm. It’s a great activity for the kids while you get the weekly shop done!

Pizza-Making Experience with Pizza Pals and Bobbi’s Restaurant

Kids can experience a dough-lightful activity these school holidays with a hands-on pizza-making session, hosted by Pizza Pals at Bobbi’s Restaurant. Children, aged 5 to 12, will learn to make dough and wood oven pizza from scratch, and will be able to take their handmade creation home. They’ll enjoy delicious pizza, refreshing drinks, and ice cream for dessert. Plus, parents can enjoy coffee upon arrival. As a bonus, kids will receive a $25 Bobbi’s voucher for their next visit. Reserve a spot for either the 10th or 17th of July at the Hilton Hotel on South Road.
