There’s stacks happening to celebrate Winter Solstice, and the onset of warmer, longer days, so here’s your guide to what’s on.
Winter Solstice with Dark Food, Dark Mood, Dark Wine at Rojomoma Wines
June 21 & June 22, 6:30pm til late, Red Art – Rojomoma
Delve into the winter solstice darkness in this little rustic Barossa winery. Enjoy DARK FOOD of fresh local produce and succulent meat from Barossa farms in a stunning 3 course dinner. Indulge in lashings of DARK WINE from Rojomoma’s Red Art range including their new release Amplify Shiraz, the purest expression of shiraz from their single vineyard (which costs $395 a bottle, so it’s worth a taste!). An intimate string quartet performance will set the DARK MOOD with an incredible mini concert of modern and classical pieces by members of the Adelaide & Melbourne Symphony Orchestras.

Winter Solstice Cellar-bration
June 21, 22, 23, 11am til 4pm, Elderton Wines
In celebration of Winter Solstice, on Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of June the Elderton Cellar Door team will be venturing down to the Ashmead family cellar to select a special wine to be opened for your enjoyment! Paired with a plate of local cheeses from Barossa Valley Cheese Company, you will be able to settle in by the open fire, or at the long table in Cellar Door and enjoy a glass of wine that has been carefully aged in optimum cellaring conditions.

Mineral Kingdom ~ Winter Solstice Party

As we reach our furthest point from the burning source in the sky, and stretch out into the dark edges of the cosmos to dance with the stars… we will be blessed by the ethereal music of Mineral Kingdom…. the myth, the legend. Singer songwriter Banjo Jackson teams up with prolific creation wizard, Matt Morrison & the ever expanding magician, Surahn Sidhu, to build a tower to the heavens… together they are MINERAL KINGDOM. Winter Solstice 2 Hour Yin Class

Join AYF for a special 2 hour Yin class with Michael on Friday 21st June. Winter represents the most Yin aspect of traditional Chinese
medicine. Yin is the dark, slow, inward energy. In that tradition, the season of Winter relates to the Water element, which governs the Kidney and Bladder meridians. In Chinese medicine the Kidney and Bladder organs are the foundation of Yin and Yang balance for all the other organs.
2019 Gumeracha Winter Solstice Soup and Fire Night

Winter Solstice Concert With Saltwater Taffy, Jen and Steve

Join Saltwater Taffy with special guests Jen Lush and Steve Lennox in a musical celebration of midwinter. In time-honoured tradition the Yule Log will be burnt along with your wishes! Tickets $10. Doors open 8.30pm.
