Your ultimate list of EOFY Adelaide team building ideas

Looking for a corporate EOFY party destination, or a team building activity idea? Here’s some fun things to do around SA to make it easy to organise something.

With the end of financial year on our doorstep (where does the time even go???) and EOFY parties or team building to plan, we thought we’d make it super easy for you to organise something, with a list of all of our favourite team building activities, and party ideas! Basically, this is a big list of awesome things that we love to do socially, but now we can also write off as a work expense. Genius.

Project Break

Let’s be honest, it’s been a tough financial year for most of us. There’s been plenty of stress, particularly at work, and EOFY seems like a bloody good time to cleanse the ol’ soul of all the anxiety that’s built up. Enter Project Break. The Project Break warehouse has been fitted out with specially designed ‘smash rooms’ which are large enough to allow for a serious swing and also fully enclosed with a reinforced back wall to ensure no pieces of porcelain go astray.

Before entering, grab your box of thirty breakable items (think dinnerware, glassware and ceramics) and select your weapon from the Weapon Wall. Perhaps you fancy a sledgehammer? Or maybe a baseball bat is more your style? The choice is all yours. Once you’ve made your selection, the clock starts ticking. For fifteen glorious minutes it’s just you, your sledgehammer (or bat), and a whole lot of fine china in need of smashing.

MANIAX

While we’re talking about stress relief, we can’t go past MANIAX. MANIAX is an axe-throwing warehouse with a fully licenced bar. You and your team will spend two hours learning to hurl hunks of sharpened steel at wooden targets before cooling down with an icy cold, craft brew and a piping hot pizza. The bar is stocked with wine, cider, spirits, and local beers such as Big Shed and Pirate Life, and the food offerings sound delicious.

While the venue is equipped to host up to 90 for a rented-out party, group bookings of six or more get their own private axe-throwing lane to make for an intimate, fun day.

Handlebar Tours

Traditionally, HandleBar Adelaide has taken patrons on two-hour pedalling and drinking tours of the city. Now, the pedalling pub has also introduced Progressive Dinner Tours, taking dining out in the city to a whole new level. For 2.5 hours, patrons pedal across the CBD, visiting various restaurants and tasting a plethora of different cuisines. You’re going to want to turn on your Strava for this dinner tour, as you’ll clock up a lot of kilometres on the 100% pedal-powered bar. The best thing about this experience is that the food comes to you. No need to get off your seat, as the kind wait staff bring the delicious snack packs straight to the bar.

HandleBar fits up to 16 people, with ten people powering (pedaling) the vehicle.

Holey Moley

Mini golf. It’s one of those things that people either love or hate, but sometimes they just hate it because they haven’t been to HOLEY MOLEY! The popular putt putt course is full of pop culture themed courses inside their CBD venue, and often has DJS playing alongside their cocktail bar. Recently, Holey Moley has expanded their Adelaide venue to include another storey with a new bar, restaurant, function space, and arcade.

The new downstairs space, a tenancy taken over from a former café, has open with a brand new food menu, outdoor seating, and function space accommodating 220 people, along with a new cocktail menu also launching. Perfect for some weather-proof group fun!

Cocktail/Gin Masterclasses

We are spoilt for choice here in Adelaide with many venues and local breweries and distilleries offering their own masterclasses.

One of our favourites is located at Next Door who have partnered with Prohibition Liquor Co. to host cocktail masterclasses right in the CBD. d’Arenberg

If your wanting to take your team out of the bustling city to a more relaxed and scenic location, look no further than d’Arenberg for a day packed with great wine, food and art. Aside from touring their iconic Cube, d’Arenberg also offer team wine blending classes where you can make your own bottle to take home. The experience, which gives your team the opportunity to play winemaker for the day, allows you to to blend and bottle your own wine.

The Blending Bench is where the craft of winemaking becomes an art form. Three distinctive barrel samples of single vineyard wine are blended to create a personalised Shiraz, something truely unique. The final blend is then bottled and given a quirky name, in true d’Arenberg fashion. Available for groups of up to 8 people, you can also pair the experience with a degustation lunch afterwards at D’arry’s Verandah restaurant.

Escape Rooms

Any Adelaide local knows we are nuts for escape rooms. Remember the games we played growing up around finding missing objects, solving riddles, and frantically fighting against time to escape a locked room and win? What a rush. Experiencing all that adrenaline and fun in real-life escape rooms, is pretty much our childhood dreams come true – and what a better way to build up team confidence than having to work together to solve a problem.

Here’s our list of Adelaide’s best escape rooms.
