Golden Globe winner and all round icon Zendaya will be making her way down under this month to promote her new film ‘Challengers’ which she both starred in and produced. The former Disney star will grace the Australian Premiere with her presence alongside fellow Golden Globe and SAG Award winner Josh O’Connor, and BAFTA nominee Mike Faist. Adding to the star-studded affair, the film’s producer Rachel O’Connor will also walk the red carpet at The State Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday, March 26.

Directed by Oscar and BAFTA nominee Luca Guadagnino (known for “Call Me By Your Name” and “I Am Love”), ‘Challengers’ features Zendaya in the powerhouse role of Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach, whose fierce determination knows no bounds, both on and off the court. Tashi, married to a struggling champion (Faist), devises an unexpected strategy for her husband’s comeback when he is pitted against his former best friend, the down-and-out Patrick (O’Connor) – who also happens to be Tashi’s ex. As their intertwined pasts and turbulent presents collide, tensions escalate, prompting Tashi to confront the high price of victory.

Now while she won’t be making an appearance in Adelaide like her Eupohira co-star Jacob Elordri did last year, there is still plenty of buzz around the new film, which only intensified with the release of its first trailer – the film officially releases to Australian cinema’s in April 18.

The Sydney premiere of ‘Challengers’ will be held at the renowned State Theatre on Market Street with red carpet festivities are scheduled to begin at 6pm. Given the fashion triumphs witnessed during the ‘Dune Part Two’ press tour, Zendaya will undoubtably ‘serve’ another collection of amazing ensembles with thanks to her trusted stylist, Law Roach.
