Peter Goers is somewhat of an Adelaide institution, everybody knows the name and, love him or hate him, he is a part of Adelaide’s uniqueness. He has been active in theatre for many years. He earned a reputation as a tough reviewer and now he hosts an evening show on ABC radio. For the past four years Peter has been a part of the Adelaide Fringe and he is back this year with a new set of stories. He has mellowed with the years and his stories seem to be a chat between friends.

His skill as a raconteur is well known, clever with words and a great storyteller, he has no trouble holding an audience and the laughter comes feely and easily. Mostly Peter spent the time reminding people of things they may have forgotten, milk and bread deliveries, the way the railway used to be and the Adelaide we all remember.

Peter was joined on stage by two other Adelaide favourites, Anne Wills (Willsy) and Robin (Schmacka) Schmeltzkopf. Willsy shared some of Peter’s reminiscing and Schmacka entertained us with a song. All in all, a very pleasant way to smile and laugh through and hour or so.
