Magicians Sam Hume and Justin Williams are the Showmen – and they certainly are!! They are slick, funny, entertaining and very, very good at what they do, which is the whole bag of tricks – magic, card tricks, mentalism, illusion and escape.

These two young Victorians are quite possibly the Penn and Teller of Australia, except for the fact that they both talk and you wouldn’t find Penn or Teller running around in nothing but jocks (well Penn maybe – possibly Teller given the right circumstances). Sam is the more serious of the two, but still fun, with Justin being the cheeky (almost literally at one stage) ‘class clown’ that everyone loves to love – and they both excel at prestidigitation.

Without giving anything away; there is swapping of clothes, smashing of phones, throwing of balls, playing with fire and so, so much more. In fact, it’s quite magical how they fit all that they perform into only an hour. Hume also manages to fit in a quite moving little piece about how the two boys got together as a magic act in their teens and never looked back.

This is an absolutely wonderful night out with one of the many mysteries presented being: why have these two not been to Adelaide until now? Hopefully they will not vanish forever and keep reappearing at many more Fringes.
