Rodeos, Burqas And Charlie Pickering At The Fringe

Charlie Pickering is passionate about passion. To be clear, he is passionate about those things in the world that most people know very little about but the people who do are really into them. Hence Rodeo, Burqa, Circumcision – a show about topics that excite extreme interest in some and confuse almost everyone else.

Unable to convince the producers of either The Project or Talkin' ‘Bout Your Generation to produce 'Rodeo Wednesday' or ‘Circumcision of the Week’, Charlie has turned to his first love, stand-up comedy, and will return to Adelaide in 2012 with this cracker of a show.

Long before he scored gigs on two of TV's biggest shows, he was touring internationally, winning awards and playing to sold-out houses.

Nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award (Edinburgh Fringe), the Barry Award for Most Outstanding Show (Melbourne Comedy Festival) and the Best Established Comedian (Adelaide Fringe), he has also been named Best International Guest (New Zealand Comedy Guild), won the Comics’ Choice Award (Melbourne Comedy Festival) and was named GQ Magazine Media Personality Of The Year 2011.

Whether it’s white people having equal access to hip-hop, saving the earth one reusable coffee cup at a time or rebranding Islamic fundamentalism to make it more accessible to the general public, there are people in the world who have a deep passion. These people are Charlie's people. Join one of Australia’s most accomplished stand ups for an hour of firm views.
