The Bureau of Meteorology reports that Adelaide and the broader South Australian region will experience a mixed bag of weather patterns over the next few days. Today, Adelaide can expect a partly cloudy day with a maximum temperature of 21 degrees. Winds will be light, becoming southwesterly at speeds of 15 to 20 km/h around noon before easing in the evening.
Looking ahead, the weather over the weekend will turn sunny on Saturday with temperatures anticipated to reach a maximum of 27 degrees from a mild minimum of 11 degrees. Conditions are forecasted to shift on Sunday with a cloudy day in store and temperatures peaking at 31 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers late in the day and the possibility of a morning thunderstorm.
The start of the week will bring more significant changes, with showers set to increase on Monday, continuing through to Wednesday. Temperatures will drop slightly with Monday’s highs around 25 degrees, reducing further to 23 degrees on Tuesday and reaching only 20 degrees by Wednesday. These showers are due to a trough and approaching cold fronts impacting the state’s weather patterns.
As for the broader state forecast, after a mostly dry Saturday, conditions will become more volatile. Showers, patchy rain, and possible thunderstorms are expected to spread across the southern and western regions by Sunday and continue affecting various parts across the state into the middle of next week. These conditions are attributed to a slowly northeast-moving trough, overlaid by high pressure systems and shifting fronts.
There is a severe heat wave warning for the North West Pastoral District of South Australia, lasting from Thursday, to Sunday. Temperatures are forecast to reach the low forties within this period, impacting individuals and communities.
