Adelaide weather forecast for Sunday September 13th and the days ahead

Happy Sunday! Here’s the weather for September 13th and a look at what’s to come next week.

Adelaide is in for a cool, changeable start to the week, with showers and a possible morning thunderstorm today before calmer, sunnier spring weather settles in by the end of the working week.

Today will feel unsettled across Adelaide, with a very high chance of showers, most likely this morning, and the chance of a thunderstorm early in the day. Temperatures are expected to reach 21 degrees in the city, with northerly winds strengthening before a westerly change moves through around the middle of the day. That wind shift will be one to watch, especially for anyone heading out early or spending time along the coast.

Monday stays on the grey side, with a cloudy day and the chance of a shower or two, most likely later and into the night. After today’s relatively mild feel, temperatures ease back to 18 degrees, with a low of 12 degrees overnight. Winds will be westerly before turning southwesterly during the afternoon and evening, adding to the cooler feel across the metro area.

Tuesday continues that cooler pattern. Adelaide is forecast to remain cloudy, with just a slight chance of a shower in the morning before conditions gradually settle. The top drops again to 17 degrees after a minimum of 10 degrees, with southwesterly winds turning south to southeasterly during the day.

By Wednesday, things begin to improve, even if the temperature stays subdued. A partly cloudy day is expected with a top of 17 degrees after a chilly morning low of 7 degrees. Southeasterly winds will ease during the evening, and the city should start to feel a little more settled after the earlier run of showers and cloud.

Then comes the brighter shift Adelaide will be happy to see. Thursday is forecast to be sunny with a cold start of 6 degrees and a daytime top of 19 degrees. Light winds will become northeasterly during the morning, helping bring a more pleasant feel. Friday builds further, with sunshine continuing and temperatures lifting to 22 degrees after a morning low of 10 degrees.

By Saturday, Adelaide heads into a classic spring warm-up. Sunny skies are forecast again, with the temperature jumping to 26 degrees after a milder overnight low of 13 degrees. Northerly to northwesterly winds will pick up during the morning, capping off a seven-day stretch that starts with showers and ends with a clear taste of warmer weather.

Across the rest of South Australia, the early part of the week remains more active than Adelaide’s back half. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are pushing across the west and south today, clearing gradually from the west as the day goes on. There is also the risk of gusty thunderstorms in the eastern districts, while the far northwest could see storm activity later.

Monday brings possible morning fog through the Agricultural Areas and West Coast, while showers and thunderstorms linger in the far west and isolated showers spread across southern coastal districts later in the day.

By Tuesday, temperatures fall below average across the state, with light showers about the Southern Agricultural Area clearing by afternoon and isolated thunderstorms still possible in the far northwest.

Wednesday looks much calmer statewide, with dry and mostly sunny conditions, though the northeast can expect fresh and gusty east to southeasterly winds. Rainfall totals remain fairly light for many districts, but heavier falls are possible in the far west.

Happy Sunday!
