Adelaide embraces its first Ramadan Night Market, which after this year’s inaugural success, become one of the most exciting additions to Adelaide’s cultural calendar.
A Ramadan Night Market is a lively, festive marketplace that comes to life during the holy month of Ramadan, after sunset when Muslims break their fast.
Almina’s Kitchen, situated on Main North Road, Blair Athol, is currently hosting the Ramadan Night Markets until 29 March, welcoming visitors nightly from 7pm until late.

This year’s Ramadan Night Market is the first of its kind in Adelaide, offering an immersive cultural experience for the wider community.
These markets are popular in many countries with significant Muslim populations, including the UAE, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, and parts of the UK, US, and Canada. They also pull huge crowds in New South Wales and Victoria, and now, South Australia has its very own.
Almina’s Kitchen owner Sam Mina said he couldn’t believe the overwhelming response and wishes he had gone bigger.
“We’ve been inundated every night,” he said.
“I attended one of the markets in Melbourne and was completely inspired by the atmosphere. That’s when I decided to bring one to South Australia. In Sydney, the markets attract over 1.5 million visitors over just a few weekends. Although we’ve only got a 40-metre-long driveway, we’ve been serving hundreds of people every night.”
Since opening in 2023, Almina’s Kitchen has built on a rich family legacy in the culinary world, offering a fusion of Turkish, Lebanese, and Middle Eastern flavours. It’s the perfect hub to launch this exciting new market experience.
A traditional Ramadan Night Market serves as both a shopping and social hub, offering everything from traditional foods to cultural performances and handmade crafts.

The Adelaide market is buzzing every night, with a vibrant atmosphere and over 20 bustling stalls, featuring an enticing selection of traditional dishes, aromatic desserts, and artisanal goods.
Visitors can indulge in authentic Middle Eastern flavours, including the rich, syrupy layers of knafeh and znoud, alongside freshly made manakeesh, falafel, and pressed shawarma.
However, a few Instagrammable and show-stopping dishes have stolen the spotlight.

“Our camel burger is a so, so good and the only one in Adelaide,” said Sam.
“It’s a Lebanese take on a traditional burger, but with a Middle Eastern twist – made with garlic dip, Aleppo pepper paste, pickled turnip, and gherkins, and packed with hot chips.”
“Our knafeh – baked cheesecake – is a sweet dessert soaked in syrup and topped with pistachios, and it’s super popular during Ramadan. And we can’t keep up with the demand for our Dubai strawberry cups,” he added.

For those craving an energy-boosting, comforting treat after a day of fasting, there’s gelato and Lebanese mocktails, while sugar cane juice infused with pineapple and dragonfruit offer a refreshing complement to the feast.
“We’ve also got Biscoff and Nutella açai cups that are next-level, and this week we’re introducing our latest creation, the Milo Strawberry Cup.”
Beyond food and drinks, the market also showcases henna art, handcrafted clothing, and specialty groceries, offering a true celebration of Ramadan’s spirit through cuisine, craftsmanship, and community.
“After the phenomenal success of this year’s markets so far, we are definitely adding some exciting new foods and experiences next week in the lead-up to the end of Ramadan on 29 March. And next year, we’ll create a much bigger and more diverse market.”
This market is a family-friendly experience, welcoming people from all backgrounds to come together and enjoy the festivities.
Whether you’re fasting, feasting, or simply looking for an exciting culinary night out, the Ramadan Night Market at Almina’s Kitchen is a must-visit event this March.
