Henley locals already know the drill. Bagel in hand, beach towel under arm, coffee balanced precariously as you head toward the water. Now, that ritual is heading further down the coast.
The team behind Mia Margarita are giving their hit pop-up Beachside Bagels – which currently operates from the Mia Margarita window at Henley Beach – a second, permanent coastal home. Slated to open early February, the new spot will be at Port Noarlunga, and comes with an after-dark alter-ego.
By day, it’s all about bagels, sandos, strong coffee and matcha. By night, it quietly shapeshifts. Come March, the space will also go by Miss Margarita, a limited weekend-only margarita bar and taco spot, and a cheeky sister to their Henley Square favourite.

“We wanted to make proper use of the space,” co-owner Fadi says. “The offering really suits the area. You’ve got the beach, people are already out, and at night there wasn’t anything quite like this nearby.”
The daytime menu stays true to the Beachside Bagels formula, with a mix of classics and indulgent melts designed to be eaten on the go. Or slowly, barefoot, in the sand. Expect smoked salmon with dill cream cheese and pickled onion, bacon and avo with blue cream cheese, a fried chicken bagel with sriracha cream cheese and chipotle slaw, and a fully loaded big brekkie stacked with egg, bacon, hash brown, guac and chilli jam.
The toasted crowd-pleasers continue too. Birria melts served with consommé for dipping, pastrami melts with sauerkraut and special sauce, and a tuna melt that’s already earned cult status. Veg and vegan options are covered, with halloumi, mushrooms and cashew cream cheese making solid appearances, plus a few new Noarlunga-only additions still in the works.
Coffee is brewed with 1645 Coffee Roasters beans from Glynde, alongside specialty drinks like coconut matcha cloud, strawberry matcha and a Mont Blanc – filter coffee finished with orange syrup, cold foam and fresh nutmeg.
But it’s what happens after sunset that really sets this space apart. If Mia Margarita is the loud, colourful sister, Miss Margarita is stealing a few things from her wardrobe.
“She’s very familiar to people,” Fadi says. “She’s serving Mia Margarita’s 100% agave tequila, classic margaritas and a few flavours people already love – watermelon, blackberry, coconut, spicy piña – plus some extras you wouldn’t recognise.”
There’ll be beers on tap, a tight cocktail list, and Mia Margarita’s signature tacos and crowd favourites anchoring the food offering.
The setting has been designed with evenings in mind. Out the back, a large enclosed courtyard will feature a stepped-down bar finished in textured plaster, curved coastal lines, cactus gardens and transplanted palm trees – four of them – set into concrete to give the space a fun beach-club feel. There’s seats for a proper sit-down feast, but the open-air space begs for people to move and mingle.
For the Mia Margarita crew – physios-turned-hospo operators Michael and Fadi – it’s another evolution of a concept that’s always leaned into fun, Mexican-infused dining, and giving Adelaide exactly what it wants. Bagel in the morning. Margarita at night. Down south, that kind of flexibility feels right at home.
