Golf legend Greg Norman will visit South Australia next month to inspect construction of the championship-style golf course he is designing at The Dunes Port Hughes on the Yorke Peninsula.
Norman will make a flying visit to the beachside town on June 1 to look over the course’s first nine holes, which are currently being shaped ahead of a scheduled opening next autumn.
The 18-hole links-style course will be Norman’s first in SA and form part of The Dunes Port Hughes residential and resort development, which when complete will feature more than 2,000 residential dwellings and world-class leisure facilities.
The Dunes Port Hughes Chief Executive Officer Andrew Martin expects Norman’s visit will generate plenty of local interest.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming Greg and showing him the substantial progress that has occurred on-site over the past 12 months,” he said.
“It really is all systems go at the moment as we’re pushing to have tees, fairways and greens in place by the end of the year so that we can officially open the first nine holes next autumn.”
