Cozy Cake Shop, a traditional Brazilian cake shop with service as sweet as their food, opened its doors on July 1.
Located at 50 Grenfell Street, this cute café is your one-stop-shop for homemade cakes (baked fresh daily).
Cozy Cakes are made for all occasions and can be enjoyed at any time of day, best paired with a group of friends and a nice warm cup of coffee or tea.
Owner, baker and cake enthusiast, Helena Guimaraes, turned her dreams into reality after moving from Brazil to Australia in 2017 with her husband.
You may have been lucky enough to try one of Helena’s cakes at the Cozy Cake pop-up in the Adelaide Central Markets last year. Her business quickly grew with word spreading across Adelaide. Helena had no choice other than to open a café where she could keep up with the unprecedented demand.
Cozy Cake is well known for their traditional Brazilian polenta cakes and also offer other mouth-watering flavours, including Churros, Carrot & Chocolate and Polenta & Guava. A must-try is the melt-in-your-mouth Polenta & Coconut cake, known as a Queijadinha. It’s definitely one to bring to your next morning tea.
There is a range of gluten free, sugar free and dairy free alternatives, which means no one misses out on having a slice. The café plans to have a coffee machine put in next month.
Their not so secret recipe for every cake is plastered across a wall of the café. Helena’s cakes are a true testament to her upbringing and family-oriented nature.
Cozy Cake is about bringing people together and making the most of the shared moments. If you can’t make it to their Grenfell Street café to try a slice, Cozy Cake offers a delivery service for selected suburbs. There is also the option of pre-ordering any cake for your next at-home or in-office party.
