Eleven of South Australia’s standout wineries, restaurants and wine tourism destinations have been named among the finalists for the prestigious 2027 Best Of Wine Tourism Awards.
The shortlist spans some of the state’s best-known wine regions, with businesses from the Barossa, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Adelaide Hills and Currency Creek joining an Adelaide CBD destination in the running.
Presented through Adelaide’s membership of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, the awards recognise leading wine tourism experiences across seven categories, including accommodation, architecture and landscape, culinary experiences, art and culture, sustainability and innovative tourism experiences.
The 11 shortlisted businesses are:
- Beresford Estate, McLaren Vale
- BK Wines, Adelaide Hills
- Chateau Tanunda, Barossa
- d’Arenberg, McLaren Vale
- Home of Plenty, Currency Creek
- Jacob’s Creek, Barossa
- National Wine Centre, Adelaide
- On Cockatoo Lane, Barossa
- Paulett Wines & Bush deVine Restaurant, Clare Valley
- Slate Restaurant at Pikes Wines, Clare Valley
- Tscharke Wines, Barossa
Winners will be announced at the SA Wine Industry Dinner at the National Wine Centre on Thursday, September 17.
Those taking out South Australian awards will then head onto the international stage, competing in the global Best Of Wine Tourism Awards during the Great Wine Capitals Global Network annual conference in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, in October.
The international awards will benchmark South Australia’s winning operators against leading wine regions from around the world.
Minister for Tourism Emily Bourke said the spread of businesses represented on the shortlist highlighted the strength of wine tourism across the state.
“Our wine regions are among the state’s most sought-after visitor destinations, offering world-class experiences that showcase the best of South Australia,” Minister Bourke said.
“These awards celebrate the passion, creativity and commitment of the people who help make our regions such special places to visit.”
Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Clare Scriven said South Australia’s global wine reputation was supported by both its producers and the visitor experiences being created around them.
“South Australia is recognised around the world for our premium wine and outstanding visitor experiences, which are underpinned by hard work, innovation and passion for our wine industry,” Minister Scriven said.
The shortlist comes during the 10th anniversary of South Australia joining the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, which connects internationally recognised wine regions and promotes wine tourism around the world.
The South Australian winners will also be profiled throughout the coming year, highlighting their contribution to the state’s tourism and wine industries.
The 2027 Best Of Wine Tourism Awards winners will be announced on Thursday, September 17 at the National Wine Centre.
