2011 Oscar winner at the Clare Valley Film Festival Awards Gala

It has just been confirmed that the 2011 Oscar winning animated film The Lost Thing, by Perth filmmaker Shaun Tan and voiced by comedy superstar Tim Minchin, will be screened at the Clare Valley Film Festival Awards Gala.

It has just been confirmed that the 2011 Oscar winning animated film The Lost Thing, by Perth filmmaker Shaun Tan and voiced by comedy superstar Tim Minchin, will be screened at the Clare Valley Film Festival Awards Gala.

Last year’s Best Australian Film winner Matt Hawkins gives us a sneak preview of his first feature, Double Happiness Uranium.

The Clare Valley Film Festival Awards Gala will feature excerpts from all the winning films and of course the presentation of the Awards for Best Australian Film, Best International Film, Audience Choice Award and Clewers 24 Hour Film Challenge.

Followed by a light supper & drinks hosted by Grosset Wine and Mount Horrocks Wines of Auburn, South Australia.

Friday night’s film The Sweeney – The Life and Work of Jim Sweeney is a feature-length documentary, sold out at this years Edinburgh Fringe.

It traces the growth of improvised comedy from Theatre Machine through Whose Line Is It Anyway to The Comedy Store Players.

With excerpts from live shows and contributions from Eddie Izzard, Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, Greg Proops and Mike McShane. A must-see for aficionados of all things comedic.
