Two New Cars Receive 5 Star Safety Rating

The new Subaru Outback and Subaru Liberty, which will be on sale in January, have both scored the maximum 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

ANCAPThe new Subaru Outback and Subaru Liberty, which will be on sale in January, have both scored the maximum 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

RAA Senior Manager of Mobility and Automotive Policy Mark Borlace said the ratings that were announced today, just build on Subaru solid reputation for vehicle safety, with 5 star ANCAP safety ratings available across its fleet.

“Both cars scored highly in all areas of physical crash test assessment and come with dual frontal, knee, side, chest and head-protecting (curtain) airbags. Good performance was also recorded in the whiplash and pedestrian protection tests,” he said.

“In recognising Subaru’s continued achievements in offering consumers with a high level of safety, this is particularly encouraging given both of these new models have been assessed against ANCAP’s more stringent 2015 requirements.”
