A collaboration between sister businesses 23rd Street Distillery and El Toro Tequila, World Tequila Weekend is going to be an unmissable 2-day event in Renmark.
Hosted at the historic site of 23rd Street Distillery, which was built in 1914, this modernised location is going to be bustling all weekend to celebrate the international calendar date.
Owned by parent company Bickfords, 23rd Street Distillery and El Toro Tequila are coming together to showcase the best of their produce. 23rd Street Distillery is known for their gloriously extensive cocktails list, and in celebration of World Tequila Weekend, El Toro is going to shake and stir things up.
As a celebration of all things tequila, there’s quite a bit to look forward to on the weekend of this international celebration.
Known as the ‘Drink of the Gods’ according to the Aztecs who first ever fermented the spirit from the blue agave plant, the historic Mexican spirit of tequila goes back a long way. These days tequila is a festive favourite, the Margarita a bar classic, and a core memory for many.
Despite the well-documented history of the spirit’s origins, the origins of July 24th as World Tequila Day are a little cloudier… perhaps its creators were imbibed with the very drink we love to pair with salt and lime. Nevertheless, it’s an international celebration, and 23rd Street Distillery and El Toro are using this as the perfect excuse to showcase what they can do.
Reimagining classic cocktails with a twist thanks to El Toro’s tantalisingly tasty tequilas, you can partake in tequila tastings, and even learn something new at the Tequila Cocktail Masterclasses being hosted throughout the weekend.
With DJs and live music playing over the weekend, this is your opportunity to taste the beautifully balanced flavours of El Toro’s tequila, and even brush up on your own skills in cocktail making

“I definitely recommend El Toro’s Grand de Cafe Tequila,” she told Glam Adelaide.
Used as in their tequila-based Espresso martini, Papp-Horvath describes it as “a bit too delicious… it’s honestly life-changing!”
It’s shaping up to be a big weekend, and Glam Adelaide has been informed there will be discounts available on El Toro tequilas, so if you find a favourite during your Cocktail Masterclass, you’ll get the opportunity to recreate the flavour sensations at home.
