The Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market is open and celebrating Easter Sunday on the 17th of April with an Easter Trail, giveaways, and even a visit from the Easter Bunny.
If you’re stuck for ideas on where to take the family this Easter weekend, then maybe a trip down to the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds might be the best idea since sliced bread.
Provided on grounds will be, freshly baked hot cross buns, local farm-fresh produce, South Aussie milk, artisanal cheeses, gluten-free goodies, and tempting sweet treats galore. Have a browse, grab a coffee, and a bunch of beautiful flowers for the table. You will be able to find everything you need for an Easter Sunday feast.
The Farmers Market Trail will take place between 9 am and 11 am with a prize draw for participating children at 12 noon. Upon completing the trail, the kids will receive an Easter treat.
Christine Robertson, Executive Officer of the ASFM says “it will be a great way to start your Easter Sunday at the market. The Easter Bunny will be there to welcome everyone, and the kids can follow the clues and take part in a fabulous Easter Trail.”
“Like every Sunday, we will have healthy and fresh produce arriving straight from the farm, so it’s a great opportunity to do your weekly shopping, stock up for the long weekend and the school holidays, whilst the kids are locating the clues on the trail” Robertson continued.
Come early, and enjoy breakfast on the lawns under a shady tree with delicious hot chocolate, hot cross buns, pancakes, and ice cream. Then shop for farm-fresh seasonal produce.
Numbers are strictly limited, and the trail is only recommended for children 12 years and under. All trail participants much have adult supervision and we do ask for a gold coin donation. Market member children can participate for free.
Organise ahead and pre-order produce such as hot cross buns, fresh seafood, meat, and poultry to pick up on Easter Sunday to enjoy over the Easter break.
The Markets open every Sunday 8.30 am – 12.30 pm and on Easter Sunday (17th April 2022).
