Adelaide, get ready to have the time of your life, because Dirty Dancing in Concert is coming to town for one night only this November.
The live-to-film concert experience will take over the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre on Friday 27 November 2026, bringing the romance, music and big-screen magic of the beloved 1987 film back in a way that is made for lifelong fans.
Rather than a traditional stage musical, this is a full screening of the digitally remastered film, played on a massive cinema screen, while a live band and vocalists perform the soundtrack in sync with the movie.
As Baby and Johnny’s story unfolds, the songs that defined the film will be brought to life in the room, turning one of cinema’s most famous romances into a shared concert experience.
And when the credits roll, the night is far from over. The show continues with an encore-style after-party, where audiences are encouraged to sing, dance and relive the film’s biggest musical moments with fellow fans.
Presented by Lionsgate, GEA Live and Karl Sydow, the 2026 return forms part of a global tour spanning more than 100 cities, with nearly a quarter of a million tickets sold to date for the live-to-film concert experience.
“Dirty Dancing has always been more than just a movie—it’s a cultural touchstone that continues to resonate across generations,” says Floris Douwes, Producer and Managing Director at GEA Live.
“We’re ecstatic to have the opportunity to bring this live-to-film celebration back to audiences around the world, combining the magic of the original film with the energy of a live concert.
“Whether you’re seeing it for the first time or the fiftieth, this experience invites fans to fall in love with Baby and Johnny all over again—and dance the night away.”
Released in 1987, Dirty Dancing starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey as Johnny and Baby, and became one of the most recognisable screen romances of its era. Its soundtrack also became part of pop culture history, with “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Tickets are now on sale, so be ready to dance the night away in November.
