Glenelg tram passengers are being urged to plan ahead, with services set to temporarily stop on part of the line this July as final works are completed ahead of the Mike Turtur Bikeway reopening.
Trams will not operate on the Glenelg tram line from Saturday, 4 July to Sunday, 19 July, with services suspended between South Terrace and Moseley Square.
During the temporary closure, substitute buses will replace all tram services along the affected section. Trams within the city will continue to operate as normal during this time.
The closure is required to allow crews to complete important upgrades as part of the Tram Grade Separation Projects, including final works that will enable the Mike Turtur Bikeway to reopen in July.
The Mike Turtur Bikeway has been upgraded as part of the broader tram works, which have included the removal of level crossings, construction of new overpasses and improvements designed to make journeys safer and more reliable for tram passengers, pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
The temporary tram closure will also allow other maintenance works to be completed along the line.
All tram lines are expected to reopen from first service on Monday, 20 July.
Adelaide Metro has thanked customers for their patience while the works are carried out and is encouraging passengers to check the Adelaide Metro website for the latest information on rail line closures and service changes.
