Port Elliot Bakery are purveyors of the monthly treat, a themed item only available during a month, that often has you throwing your diet, your diligence and frankly, your dignity out the window.
This month’s irresistible donut is a vanilla cream brûlée with lemon curd and yep, it’s all we didn’t know we needed.
Established in 1989, Port Elliot Bakery is still managed by the original owners with products baked fresh daily.
The site is used to baking, being a bakery long before Port Elliot Bakery took over (perhaps I said bakery one too many times) . In fact, its history spans over a hundred years AND it still features their original wood-fired oven.
If the donut of the month doesn’t have you salivating (donut lie to us… lol get it) then their pie of the month is equally captivating.
Creamy chicken camembert with cranberry sauce and honestly, urgh, get in us. It feels like it’s 2 degrees out there and in lieu of a space heater at our feet in the chilly offices all over SA, we just need this pie.
