Adelaide weather forecast for Saturday March 15th and the days ahead

From extreme heat and fire danger to cooling showers and potential thunderstorms, there’s plenty on the cards this weekend.

Residents of South Australia are preparing for a significant shift in weather patterns over the next few days according to the latest information from the Bureau of Meteorology.

Starting with the forecast for today, Adelaide is set to see temperatures peak at a high of 39°C under mostly sunny skies, with a low of 21. Winds will shift from the east to north-westerly before a cooler south-westerly change in the evening.

The BOM has issued a fire weather warning today for several districts, including the Mount Lofty Ranges and Yorke Peninsula. With extreme fire danger forecasted, residents in these areas are advised by the Country Fire Service to activate their Bushfire Survival Plans and stay alert to updates through local news and official websites.

Transitioning into Sunday, the weather will take a drastic turn as temperatures drop to a cooler 26°C accompanied by easing showers and a very high chance of thunderstorms, particularly around the hills and southern suburbs.

Entering next week, Monday shows a further decrease in temperature with a maximum of only 23°C and overcast skies. The temperature will start to climb slightly by Tuesday, with clear skies and a high of 26°C forecasted.

Looking for broadly for South Australia, a marine wind warning is in effect for the Upper West Coast and Lower West Coast until midnight Saturday. Individuals in or planning to go near these coastal areas should remain vigilant about the conditions and follow any safety directives.

A severe heatwave warning is also in effect for the West Coast and North West Pastoral districts.
