Adelaide weather forecast for Sunday September 6 and the days ahead

Adelaide is set for a cool, mostly settled start to the week, with patchy fog, slight shower chances and below-average temperatures before sunnier, warmer spring conditions arrive later in the week.

Adelaide is heading into a cool but mostly settled week, with a few light showers possible early before sunnier and warmer spring weather builds by next weekend.

For the rest of Sunday, Adelaide will see partly cloudy skies with just a slight chance of a passing shower. Temperatures are expected to top out at 17 degrees across the city, with similar conditions in Elizabeth, Glenelg and Noarlunga, while Mount Barker stays a touch cooler at 16 degrees.

Monday stays partly cloudy, and while there is only a small chance of rain, northern suburbs could wake to some early fog before conditions clear. Adelaide’s minimum will dip to 9 degrees before reaching 18, with southerly winds picking up during the middle of the day and then shifting southeasterly later on.

Tuesday brings another cool start, with a low of 7 degrees and the chance of morning fog. It should stay dry for most of the city, with only a 5 per cent chance of rain, and a top of 17 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

By Wednesday, there is a slight chance of a shower about the hills and southern suburbs in the morning, though rain is unlikely elsewhere. Southeasterly winds will be a little brisker, between 20 and 30 km/h, and temperatures will sit between 9 and 17 degrees. From there, the week begins to brighten.

Thursday is set to be sunny with a crisp morning low of 7 degrees and a top of 19. Easterly winds will take over during the morning, helping bring clearer conditions across the city.

Friday looks even better, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures rising to 21 degrees after a morning low of 9. Light winds will become north to northeasterly, helping continue the warming trend.

By Saturday, Adelaide is expected to enjoy a mostly sunny day and a much milder top of 24 degrees. There is a slight chance of a shower later in the day, but much of the daylight hours look pleasant and dry, making it the pick of the week for getting out and about.
