Ahoy, Bank Street! Pirate-themed Caribbean Bar set for major makeover

Caribbean Bar, Adelaide’s pirate-themed bar is getting a huge makeover this summer, bringing even more fun to the Bank Street precinct.

Yarrrrrr, me hearties! It’s time for a facelift, pirates! Caribbean Bar, Adelaide’s pirate-themed bar is getting a huge makeover this summer, bringing even more fun to Bank Street with more neon lights and a much bigger dance floor.

Currently closed for renovations, the team is working on increasing the dance floor to create more space. The venue will be fitted out with a brand new sound system, televisions, and microphones, which can only mean one thing: karaoke nights! That’s right, with these additions, the team has confirmed that karaoke is coming to Caribbean Bar very soon.

Expected to re-open within the next two weeks, just in time for New Years, the bar will also be fitted with new lights and neon signs. To celebrate the makeover, Caribbean Bar will be hosting a grand re-opening launch with an extravaganza of drink specials.

Already adorned with curved oak walls, whiskey barrel tables, and a wooden bar decorated with chains and mermaid doorknobs, the interior evokes the atmosphere of an 1800s pirate ship. Here, Pirates of the Caribbean lovers can show off their costumes in the city’s most suitable venue, all while dabbling in Caribbean Bar’s extensive collection of international rum and rare whisky.

As the sister-venue to popular Adelaide cocktail dens Secret Chamber Bar and Sorcerers Bar, Caribbean Bar is a celebration of all things ‘yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum’. As Adelaide’s first dedicated Pirate-themed rum and whiskey bar, the venue serves up a plethora of Captain Hook-approved spirits, small plates of delicious tapas, and their signature giant Caribbean baguette.

And while you’re waiting for Caribbean Bar to re-open their doors, make sure to visit one of their fantastic sister-bars and restaurants. The owners of Caribbean Bar also own Rue de Siam, an authentic Thai restaurant on Bank Street with a modern French flair.

The popularity of bars like Caribbean Bar, Sorcerers Bar, and Secret Chamber Bar shine a light on the growing diversity of the bar scene in Adelaide, especially in the city’s bar hub of Bank Street, Leigh Street and Peel Street.

With a feast of new venues in the area, it’s quickly become a go-to spot for cocktail parties and bar-hopping. While they have to remain closed during the facelift, Caribbean Bar will soon return to the spotlight as one of the most quirky bars on Adelaide’s iconic Bank Street.
