Australia’s biggest nightclub with a beauty lounge and cocktail bar is opening in Adelaide this November

Truth Nightclub is more a feeling then a place, one that can fall into an addiction.

Adelaide’s after-dark crowd is in for a major new arrival this November, with Truth preparing to open what will be Australia’s largest nightclub.

Every room has been designed with purpose, promising a new place to snap a photo and a different atmosphere around every corner.

Stretched across three levels and two stages, the venue, is divided into several distinct spaces, including a beauty lounge, main arena, cocktail lounge, downstairs club and beer garden.

But founder Dylan Newson says he isn’t setting out to simply build another nightclub.

“It’s a full adult playground,” he says.

“It’s going to be an adult addiction that’s not a drug. It’s a venue. It’s a place.”

For some, he hopes that might mean meeting the love of their life, making lifelong friends or simply forgetting about a difficult week for a few hours.

“One day they’ll forget what they were wearing, they’ll forget what they drank, they’ll even forget some of the songs, but they’ll never forget the feeling.”

For Dylan, that feeling comes down to those split-second moments that make a night memorable, from the silence before a drop to the butterflies and goosebumps that follow.

The venue which was previously home to Precinct, is set to launch across November 13, 14 and 15, with headline acts planned across the opening weekend.

“The goal is to bring headliners every single week and constantly bring something to Adelaide where people from Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and Perth want to fly to Adelaide to experience it,” Dylan says.

Among the venue’s more unusual offerings will be a dedicated pink beauty lounge, where guests can have their makeup touched up by an on-site makeup artist, alongside a separate cocktail lounge aimed at an older crowd seeking a more relaxed, moodier atmosphere.

Then there’s the scent.

Dylan claims Truth will be the only nightclub in the world with its own custom signature fragrance, inspired by sweet grape candy.

The scent has been designed to shape the experience from the moment guests walk through the door, forming part of a wider focus on the senses that also extends to lighting, music and even temperature.

Having grown up in South Australia before moving to the Gold Coast at 18, Dylan says the idea behind Truth has been years in the making.

While living in a backpackers for around two and a half years, he began asking people about their nightlife experiences and what they did and didn’t enjoy.

“I just really tried to understand what people do and don’t want when it comes to nightclubs and hospitality in general,” he says.

What he took away from those conversations was that nightclubs could no longer rely on a dark room, flashing lights and simply “hope for the best”.

“You have to put on a show.”

And that is exactly what Truth is aiming to do when the doors open this November, bringing a much bigger, more immersive nightlife experience to Hindley Street.
