Renowned British food writer and television personality Nigella Lawson landed in Adelaide this week for her third and final stop on her Australian tour, “An Evening with Nigella Lawson” at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

With a repertoire of twelve bestselling books and successful television series, Lawson’s influence on the culinary world is undeniable, making her a household name globally.

During her appearance in Adelaide for her Australian tour, Lawson delved into the intricacies of cooking, emphasising its personal and intuitive nature.

In conversation with Matt Preston, former MasterChef judge and friend, she highlighted the significance of fresh produce and exquisite wine in Adelaide, expressing her fondness for our city’s foodie scene.

Scoping out a familiar favourite while here Monday night, Lawson returned to a Leigh Street hotspot, Fugazzi Bar and Dining.

Under the guidance of Laura and Max Sharrad, the venue has attracted other celebrities like Lawson including The Killers, Jimmy Barnes, Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, and Henry Winkler to name a few.

Revisiting the establishment for the second time, Lawson savoured a tomahawk steak paired with Whisson Lake wine from the Adelaide Hills. In an Instagram post, Lawson expressed her delight at the “fortifying feast,” particularly praising the steak and frites.

“Greetings from #Adelaide! It was just wonderful to be able to nip back into @fugazzi.bdr last night for this fortifying feast – perfectly cooked tomahawk steak, anchovy hollandaise and chips plus salad on the side,” Nigella said on her Instagram post.

Operated by MasterChef Australia star Laura Sharrad, Fugazzi Bar and Dining opened in 2021 as a New York-style Italian restaurant. It exudes sophistication while maintaining a warm ambiance. The menu, inspired by the Sharrads’ travels through Italy, offers a personal touch to classic Italian dishes.

With its intimate booths, refined timber, brass accents, and a majestic marble bar, Fugazzi Bar and Dining is a fusion of comfort and opulence.
