CIBO Espresso Burnside Named Nations Best Coffee Shop

CIBO Espresso Burnside_1CIBO Espresso is celebrating today after its Burnside Village store was named the nation’s best coffee shop at the 2010 Restaurant and Catering Awards.   The award was announced last night in Melbourne before the crème de la crème of restaurateurs, and comes three months after the store won the best coffee shop title at the South Australian Restaurant and Catering Awards.

The Burnside CIBO Espresso team fought off tough competition from around the country, including Ampersand in Paddington Café & Bookstore and Café Dolcetto in New South Wales, Victoria’s Dukes Coffee Roasters and WA’s Globe Coffee House.

CIBO Espresso Director Roberto Cardone says the award is testimony to the company’s commitment to producing quality coffee for discerning consumers.
“It’s a fantastic result for store owners Anna, Gianna and Leah and their team, as well as for CIBO Espresso as a whole,” Mr Cardone said.

“Since the first CIBO Espresso store opened in Rundle St ten years ago, our focus has been to consistently produce the best coffee in the state. To be recognised for producing the best in Australia is an incredible honour.

“With more than 70,000 coffees made across our 17 stores each week, we’ve worked hard to get everything right, from the roast of the bean through to the machine and the barista.

“We’re always investing in training our talented and hard working baristas to ensure CIBO spresso coffee is the best in town.”

Burnside CIBO Espresso store owner Anna Rodda says she is thrilled with the achievement.  “We have been at Burnside Village for eight years and by focusing on offering a true Italian espresso bar experience, we have built a fantastic, loyal clientele and I thank them for their support,” she said.

“We are also indebted to our wonderful team who love what they do and share that passion for all things Italian with our customers.”
The best coffee shop award caps off a significant year of growth for the South Australian company, which opened its 15th South Australian store at Henley Square in May, with another set to open by late December in the former Citrus restaurant site on Hutt Street in
the city.
CIBO Espresso has also just opened a multi-million-dollar, purpose-built commercial kitchen at its Windsor Gardens head office, where all its hand-made pastries, pizzas, foccace and gelati are made from scratch daily.

CIBO Espresso is a classic Italian espresso bar established in Adelaide in 2000, which was born from a passion for quality Italian food and coffee.  Today, CIBO Espresso has a presence in Adelaide and Brisbane with a total of 17 locations, with plans for further expansion in the future.
