The new facility will likely be located in Bonython Park, with Council having approved the repurposing of a section of the former netball courts, subject to appropriate funding being secured.

Volleyball SA General Manager, Karla Della Pietra, said she is looking forward to the next chapter for beach volleyball in Adelaide.

The City of Adelaide this week announced the sale of the central CBD site has been finalised. In place of the courts, NEXTDC Limited, Australia’s leading data centre provider, will construct a $100 million data centre facility.

This will expand on NEXTDC’s national network of 14 world class data centres, and has been cited as a positive investment to support some of South Australia’s key industries.

Development at the current City Beach site is set to commence in the latter half of 2022.
