Could this be the Melbourne Cup bubbly of choice?

South Australian wine maker Randal Tomich is taking on the big guns in the sparkling world with the release of Tomich Family Reserve “Pink Diamond” Sparkling Pinot.

It’s been a life-long dream of Randal and his father Dr John Tomich to release a French style champagne of this quality. The “Pink Diamond” will be launched at Variety on King William, Friday, October 19.

Randal says the “Pink Diamond” has been many years in the making.

“We wanted to create a sparkling from SA that will be up there with the likes of Pink Moet and Veuve Cliquot.

“The sparkling is 100% pinot which gives the salmon pink coloured champagne a unique, richer, elegant taste than the usually chardonnay or blend.” Randal said.

VIP guests at the Tomich Wines Spring Release launch on Friday night will also be among the first to try the “Pink Diamond”.

The Tomich Wines Cellar Door in Hyde Park is also hosting the official Variety on King William after party from 3-6pm. All guests who attend will receive a free glass of the “Pink Diamond” on arrival.
