Paws everything, clear your calendar and fetch the lead, because one of Adelaide’s cutest community events is heading back to the coast.
Doggy Day at the Beach is returning to Henley Square, inviting dogs of all sizes and personalities to enjoy a free seaside day out.
Hosted by the City of Charles Sturt, the annual event brings together dog-training sessions, practical beach-safety advice, pet-focused market stalls, prizes and giveaways in one of Adelaide’s most popular coastal spots.
“Doggy Day at the Beach is always a highlight on our calendar as we head towards the warmer months,” City of Charles Sturt Mayor Angela Evans said.
“The event celebrates the special bond between our community and their dogs.”
Mayor Evans said the day is also an opportunity to remind people that Adelaide’s beaches are shared by dog owners, other beachgoers and local wildlife, while connecting the community with information about safe and responsible pet ownership.
Whether your dog is full of the zoomies, loves greeting every person in sight or enjoys sitting back and taking in the sea breeze, the day is designed to offer something for every pup and owner. Visitors can pick up practical tips from dog-training and pet experts and learn more about safely enjoying the coast with their four-legged friends.
Local dog businesses and service providers are currently being invited to join the event as stallholders, giving Adelaide’s pet community the chance to discover more of the people and businesses operating right on their doorstep. Stallholders could include pet retailers, groomers, trainers, pet health, wellness providers and more! There’ll also be prizes and giveaways throughout the event, making it worth sticking around between training sessions and a wander through the market stalls.
While there’ll be plenty of fun for furry visitors, dogs will need to remain on a lead while in Henley Square.
For anyone whose ideal day involves salty air, plenty of dogs and a wander around Henley Square, Doggy Day at the Beach is shaping up to be a very good excuse to head seaside with your best mate.
