Three of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s award-winning food tourism operators are joining forces for a delicious morning at Willunga Farmers Market this month, celebrating the region’s growing reputation as a food-lover’s destination.
As part of Fleurieu Food Festival 2026, Fleurieu Food and Wine, The Foodbuilder and Willunga Farmers Market will come together on Saturday, August 29th, after taking out the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively for Excellence in Food Tourism at the 2025 South Australian Tourism Awards.
The morning will showcase the very different ways visitors can experience food across the Fleurieu, from getting hands-on with local ingredients and learning traditional techniques to meeting the growers and makers behind the region’s produce.
Fleurieu Food and Wine founder Jackie Mazzocato will be demonstrating how to make native-flavoured butter, giving visitors a taste of the hands-on experiences that welcome around 1,000 guests to cook with her each year.
“Winning Gold for Excellence in Food Tourism was a proud moment for our team, but seeing all three medals stay on the Fleurieu means even more,” said Jackie. “We welcome around 1,000 guests a year to get their hands in the flour with us, and this morning is a chance to celebrate the producers and the place that makes it all possible.”

Anita Robin of The Foodbuilder will showcase part of her Roots and Remnants experience, milling bouillon powder from scratch using local produce, traditional European techniques and low-waste cooking methods.
“Receiving Silver was an incredible honour, but sharing this celebration with fellow Fleurieu winners makes it even more special,” said Anita. “I love showing people that beautiful local produce, traditional European skills and simple low-waste ideas can create unforgettable meals. There couldn’t be a better place to share that than Willunga Farmers Market.”

And the setting for the celebration is itself one of the award winners. Willunga Farmers Market took home Bronze in the same category and has long been a meeting point between the community and the farmers, growers and makers who produce some of the region’s much-loved food.
The market’s role in connecting people with local produce makes it a fitting location for the three medallists to come together.
“We are proud to take Bronze and to host this celebration at the market,” shared a representative from the market. “Everything we do is about connecting the community to good local food and the people who grow and make it, so bringing the three medallists together here feels exactly right.”

Visitors can meet the three operators, watch demonstrations and discover the local produce, skills and stories behind their award-winning experiences.
The celebration will take place from 10:30am on Saturday, August 29th at Willunga Farmers Market in Willunga Town Square, as part of Fleurieu Food Festival 2026.
