Nestled among the rolling hills of Inman Valley, you’ll find a luxurious stay hidden among treetops and close to trickling waterfalls and rare wildlife.
It’s one of those spots hard to capture in photos or describe with words, but not to worry, you can experience what the fuss is all about for yourself with two new glamping stays in The Falls at Strangways.
Some may recognise the Strangways Falls name from its time in SA’s racing and breeding circles, where property owners Jake and Harriet Leahy bred and trained a small team of horses, which they still do today.
The duo have poured their heart and soul into the land and its newest accommodation offering, which has little impact on the land around them.
“The Falls at Strangways was born from a desire to diversify what our property offers, and our lifestyle,” Harriet said.
“We have trained racehorses from there for over 20 years, and run 70 head of cattle, and honestly the property is so beautiful that we wanted to share it!”
Situated on around 500 acres of land, most of which is covered in heritage scrub, you’ll also find an incredible 100-metre gorge and roaring winter waterfalls.
“It’s home to a plethora of rare and endangered plant species and the birdlife is next level. And it’s all totally off-grid.”
The new tents are more than doubling their existing offering of one glamping tent, which Harriet said has “garnered super reviews and consistent bookings.”
Although the tents are really a far stretch from camping, both new accommodation tents are fully insulated, with underfloor heating in the bathrooms, and completely different shapes and personalities.

“Jake was born here, and conservation and a genuine ‘tread lightly’ approach are something we’re both deeply passionate about, hence the direction we have taken with the safari tents,” Harriet said.
That first tent opened for booking in 2024, and the couple actually had their first guest the night before giving birth to their third little boy.
“The two new tents are a new level altogether.”
The first of the two tents, Leaf Tent, steals the show with an incredible view directly up through the gorge and 10 metres of window frontage.
“The Leaf Tent will also eventually boast a sauna and plunge pool.
“The second is the Stargazer, with a window opening directly above the bed and a spectacular add-on bathroom,” Harriet said.
Across both tents are decks which are self-milled hardwood timber, perfect for the morning cuppa or afternoon wine.
Stepping inside, you’ll find anything but your average camping experience. With a projector for movie night, underfloor heating, beautiful bathrooms including a freestanding bath with a view, king beds, a kitchen, dishwashers and wine fridge.
“You name it and we have thought of it.”
“They are powered by solar and hydro-power, gravity-fed rainwater.”

It’s been a six-year journey for Jake and Harriet, with the vision for all three tents a long one, but a project of passion and love of the land.
“We have wanted to create something that not only reflects the insane beauty of the area but also creates a ’sanctuary’ feel for those who love nature.”
Set to open this summer, the two new glamping tents are the perfect little romantic getaway or spot that Harriet hopes groups can book out across the three and have a fun group holiday.
You’ll find us gazing over the gorge from the new glamping spot that’s not so hidden any longer.
