Geoffrey Robertson QC, renowned as one of the world’s foremost human rights lawyers, as well as a prize-winning author, historian and deviser of “Hypotheticals”, is presenting his one-man show “Dreaming Too Loud” throughout Australia in May.

Robertson, hailed as an intellectual inspiration for the Global Justice Movement, (who founded and now heads Europe’s largest civil liberties practice) returns home to offer Australian audiences some passions, provocations and insights from his remarkable career.  He has defended ‘Oz’, The Sex Pistols, Salman Rushdie and Julian Assange, prosecuted Hastings Banda and General Pinochet, and been involved in legal proceedings relating to Princess Diana and the Elgin Marbles.

With shows in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne now all but sold-out, Producer Richelle Brookman has now added an Adelaide show.

Richelle said, “I am thrilled that we have been able to include Adelaide in this tour. This show is a rare opportunity for audiences to witness one of the world’s leading legal minds provide a rare insight into his life through archival footage, personal stories and revelations.”

Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director Douglas Gautier says “Adelaide Festival Centre is committed to being at the forefront of ideas and debate and is delighted to host one of the world’s most significant human rights lawyers, Geoffrey Robertson QC.”

Robertson’s work in challenging the death penalty has been accredited with creating precedents that have saved hundreds of lives.

Closer to home, Robertson famously represented the Tasmanian Aborigines to stop the Natural History Museum from experimenting on the remains of their ancestors. He served as a United Nations Appeals judge and was the first President of the War Crimes Court in Sierra Leone. His book “Crimes Against Humanity – the Struggle for Global Justice” is now in its fourth edition, and his memoir “The Justice Game” is a set text in the New South Wales HSC English syllabus.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the man whom ‘Private Eye dubs, ‘an Australian who has had a vowel transplant’ give an insight into his extraordinary life and career in an intimate theatrical performance. Robertson will share personal stories and anecdotes, speak of his dreams for Australia and justice in the world. And, as anyone who has seen his ‘Hypotheticals” might guess, there will be jokes.
