One of South Australia’s most beloved home goods and gift stores is set to open up a second brick and mortar store.
Have You Met Charlie? sells a huge range of bespoke homewares and other goodies, and is expanding with the opening of a Brighton location.
Founded in 2014 by Lauren Harper, Have You Met Charlie? started off as a humble pop-up store in Charles Street Plaza which aimed to provide local independent artists and designers with a platform for them and their creations.
With the help of Renew Adelaide, the business has since grown tremendously, having opened up its first permanent store in Adelaide’s Regent arcade.
With over 50% of the products SA-made, Have You Met Charlie? caters to those who are conscious of supporting SA businesses.
“It’s so important to shop small and local, and we support over 45 locals South Australian artists and creatives as well as another 40 from interstate, plus another handful overseas,” says Lauren, founder of Have You Met Charlie?
Shannon O’Neill, Stephen Long, Bec Platt and Amy Gilbert are just some of the South Aussie-based artists whose creations you’ll find in store.
Aside from offering a huge range of unique homewares and artwork, Have You Met Charlie? also sells jewellery, hair accessories, socks, bags, key chains, candles and stationery.
There’s even a range of suitable gifts for tots, with items including eco-friendly teething rings, bibs, and wooden and soft toys.
The business also has an online store for those unable to visit in person.
Set to open sometime this July, the business’s new retail space will be located amongst the hustle and bustle of Jetty Road in Brighton.
Have You Met Charlie? previously had two pop up stores in Jetty Street, Grange, both of which were a roaring success, so cementing the second permanent location in the beachside suburb of Brighton seemed only fitting.
“We feel that Have You Met Charlie? will be such a welcome bright, fun and quirky addition to Jetty Road Brighton and we are really excited,” say the team.
When it opens, the second Have You Met Charlie? retail space will be located at Shop 2, 51 Jetty Road, Brighton.
The retailer is set to announce the opening date later this month.
