Comedy and wine go hand in hand (often the latter helps with the former), and that’s the sort of event we like going to.

And one Adelaide’s biggest is coming back on Sunday 3 March! Grapes of Mirth and it’s at one of Adelaide’s most gorgeous wineries.

Coriole Vineyards will host, alongside actual host Merrick Watts, the stellar lineup which features the great Tom Gleeson, Cal Wilson, Sam Simmons, Nikki Britton, Ivan Aristegueita and Sam Taunton.

Comedy gold for seven hours straight as well as the best Coriole wines, locally produced beer and plenty of gourmet grub on offer.

Coriole is one of McLaren Vales premiere destinations and with good reason. They winery boasts beautiful gardens and expansive vineyards that are visible from the restaurant and cellar door.

For Grapes of Mirth, think if it as a garden party with chairs, rugs and loads and loads of wine. And in between the laughs you can have a boogie with tunes brought by DJ Pedro Moshman.

It’s an 18+ event, due to the excess of wine and the quality of the comedy. If that isn’t enough to entice you then here is the rundown of who will be presenting.

Tom Gleeson, no stranger to Grapes of Mirth, is coming back this year to crush another set. Host of Hard Quiz and The Weekly regular, Tom is a sure bet for laughs, as long as you’re ready for some sharp cutting words.

Joining him is veteran comedian Cal Wilson who crushed it in Coonawarra in January. Likewise, Nikki Britton is is a GoM specialist, making her McLaren Vale debut.

Sam Simmons is coming back to SA soil after stints in the US and UK. We’re told it’s going to get weird. Joining him is Venezuelan Ivan Aristegueita who has been showing his chops on Have You Been Paying Attention?.

Finally, newbie Sam Taunton is one full of promise according to Mez. We’re advised to enjoy him before he gets too famous.
