When it comes to brunch in Adelaide, we’re truly spoiled for choice, and where better to visit than a place that knows good quality produce, can deliver a great meal, and also has a sensational view. Well, as of recently, Little Shoo in Henley Beach ticks all those boxes.
After launching over Summer as a restaurant and wine bar (well, officially it’s a restaurant but you can’t go past a wine and some tapas as you watch the sun set on their deck), Little Shoo has now branched out to include a breakfast offering too.
This means you’ve got a new option when it comes to morning coffee along the beachfront, as well as a cosy place to watch the Winter storms roll in across the water. There’s fireplaces too, which is always welcome this time of year!
While the breakfast menu is simple, it’s packed with good quality, local produce, and will fill you up. They’re all about quality food, and aren’t fixated on presentation, but in our opinion, it’s pretty insta-worthy too.
For Us
We ordered Smashed Avo and the Eggs Benedict, and loved every mouthful. The eggs were cooked perfectly (so hard to find these days) and we treated ourselves with some sides including grilled haloumi.
You’ll also find dishes on the menu including toast with potted preserves, toasted black forest ham and cheese croissant (a good one to grab for a walk on the beach), free range eggs cooked your way, bubble & squeak, baked eggs in Napolitana sauce, Apple & Cinnamon rolled oats, and a big breakfast.
For The Kids
While Little Shoo isn’t really designed for bringing children along, they are certainly welcome. There was plenty of space for our family to find ourselves a corner where our kids wouldn’t be disturbing anyone, and we could spread out a little. There’s no kids menu per se, but Mike in the kitchen is happy to pull together some more child-friendly dishes. This is what our kids ordered…
In Summary
If you’re looking for a relaxed breakfast or brunch destination with great ambience, good quality food, and a killer seaside location, Little Shoo is a great place to try out. They cater to vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diners too. We’ll definitely be back.
You’ll find Little Shoo at 245 The Esplanade, Henley Beach.
Tip: It’s right next to Cibo, closest to the car park, and it’s also next to the Henley Beach Life Saving Club (it’s the beautiful old white house that’s been converted into the restaurant!).
They’re open from 8am till late, Thursday to Saturday, 8am till 5pm Sunday, and noon till 10pm on Wednesday.
