High-energy show Black Puddin’ to debut at Adelaide Fringe

Thomas Fonua and Corey “Chocolate Boxx” lead a multi-talented cast delivering a variety show of theatre, comedy, drag, circus, music and dance. Black Puddin’ is a genre-defining brand new show which breaks down the barriers of verbal language by communicating via body language.

The show examines the concept of remorse, performer Thomas Fonua explains “Black Puddin’ is set in a world where apologies don’t exist – by defaults everyone is ignorant of their guilt and transgressions, it’s an examination of deflective and defensive behaviours”.

The cast also starring Zaacharia Fielding, Dale Woodrige Brown, Sela Vai, Dylan Rodriguez, Luke Hubbard, and Fez Faanana, describe themselves as team of “apologist addicts” who imagine what would happen if the sentence “I am sorry’ was suddenly erased from our vocabularies and replaced with artistic defence mechanisms. It’s a high-energy, tongue- in-cheek response to a society that unapologetically throws stones and then hides their hands.
