Hilltop Hoods announced as the Record Store Day ambassadors for 2021

The Blackwood hip-hop trio have joined the Record Store Day family, to promote the desperately needed support of independent record stores.

Homegrown heroes Hilltop Hoods have been announced as the ambassadors for the return of this year’s Record Store Day which celebrates the indie record store industry.

The 3 piece hip-hop band who hail from Blackwood have gained legions of fans not only in Australia, but across the globe, with songs like ‘Cosby Sweater’, ‘1955’ and ‘Leave Me Lonely’.

The band are passionate about records themselves, with member Suffa having built up a substantial collection of vinyl.

“I’ve always participated in RSD, so when we were asked to become ambassador it was a no-brainer. It’s an honour to throw our support behind the record stores, particularly the mom & pops stores who need our support more than ever.”

Boasting an impressive, 10 ARIA Awards, 6 consecutive No. 1 albums, and sell-out arena tours around the world the Hoods have firmly established themselves as one of South Australia’s most successful musical exports.

This year, Record Store Day will be celebrated on June 12th with limited edition records on sale, exclusive discounts and a host of talented artists playing live to entertain shoppers. If partying isn’t your thing, there will be a repeat event on July 17th with additional limited edition records but a more chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Online sales of the records not sold will also be available from 6pm if you can’t get there on the day.
