Indofest Returns To Adelaide For A Fifth Year

Indofest is returning to Adelaide in 2012 with last year’s festival generating over 10,000 attendees, this year is set to become another success. 

The aim of the festival April 1 Festival is to introduce and engage members in Indonesian culture within South Australia. The annual festival will once again be held at Rymill Park, Adelaide, offering a showcase of Indonesian culture.

The program is sure to entertain and inform attendees with a range of activities from cooking demonstrations to dance and music workshops. The kids are looked after as well with children’s games and craft stalls. The day will also include cultural performances and Indonesian artists.

The Balinese Community of South Australia will perform their welcoming dance at the opening of the festival. Other Festival featured artists the Adelaide Indonesia Angklung are musicians recognised by UNESCO and will perform a range of songs as well as demonstrate how their instruments are made.

Attendees can also enter the raffle draw with colouring-in and drawing contests available for children.

The Festival is presented by the Australian Indonesian Association of South Australia in collaboration with affiliated Indonesian community groups and the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in SA.
