They’ve conquered the American punk market with their debut album ‘3D’, toured with some of punk’s best live acts and now they’re set to rock the Australian Soundwave Festival circuit, coming to Adelaide on March 5th, 2011.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet I See Stars.

Signed to Sumerian Records, I See Stars is a six piece group comprising of Brent Allen (guitar), Devin Oliver (vocals), Zach Johnson (screams/keys), Andrew Oliver (drums), Jimmy Gregerson (guitar) and Jeff Valentine (bass), who all hail from Warren, Michigan in the United States.  I See Stars recently landed themselves a spot on the Fearless Records series ‘Punk Goes Classic Rock!’ compliation, covering The Outfield’s classic ‘Your Love’.

With their debut release, 3D on shelves for over a year now with hit singles ‘The Common hours’, ‘Save The Cheerleader, Save The World’, ‘What This Means To Me’ and ‘Project Wake Up’, I See Stars are currently in the recording studio putting the finishing touches on their follow up release, rumoured to be released around December.

After touring the US and UK extensively and sharing the stage with bands such as as Forever The Sickest Kids, We The Kings, Runnrer Runner, Sky Eats Airplane, August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada (no Meryl Streep here!), Between The Buried And Me, Alesana and Rookie Of The Year, I See Stars are well – known on the US punk festival circuit after cutting their teeth with tours such as the Vans Warped Tour and are bringing their blended mix of genres to Australia for the 2011 Soundwave Festival.

Soundwave Festival will arrive in Adelaide  at Bonython Park for Saturday, 5th March and will boast incredible international acts such as 30 Seconds To Mars, Iron Maiden, Slash, Queens Of The Stone Age, Slayer, Primus, Rob Zombie. Millencolin, New Found Glory, Third Eye Blind (hopefully they sing ‘Semi Charmed Life’, for some 90’s retro goodness!), Anberlin, Ill Nino, The Ataris, Feeder and Avenged Sevenfold, among others.

I had a chat with I See Stars lead vocalist, Devin Oliver and here is what he had to say.

Q1. You have been together for 4 years, how did you all meet?
A. Myself and the rest of the band have known each other since middle school.

Q2. Where did the band name come from?
A. Our first show was battle of the bands and we had to come up with a name so we came up with it the night before the show in a park.

Q3. You toured the USA with Vans Warped, how was that for you?
A. We had an awesome time, a lot of great bands. So far the best experience of my life.

Q4. What are you most looking forward to about coming to Australia?
A. Being in a completely different country and playing to a different crowd.
