Notorious at Plant 4 Bowden for their mouth-wateringly delicious dumpling bowls, Joe Dumpling will soon open its doors to a new and bigger store within the market complex.
Family owned and run, Joe Dumpling has made its name within the Plant 4 community with their Taiwanese inspired homemade dumplings and noodles, all made from scratch with local SA produce.
Owners, Joseph Del Bono and Emma Del Bono, say nutrition is very important to them. None of their sauces come from a bottle. Just like their dumplings and noodles, everything is made from scratch.
Their current stall is growing increasingly busy during market hours, which is part of the reason behind the decision to expand Joe Dumpling, and open a more permanent, larger store.
Joseph says the new space provides the opportunity for a possible a la carte menu to be rolled out in the future. He is also thinking of holding plant-based yum cha sessions with a ‘subtle western twist’.
As of yet, there is no exact opening date, however the Del Bonos are hopeful it will be sometime in July/August of this year. The store will be situated in-between IGA and My Grandma Ben.
In the meantime, you can visit Joe Dumpling’s Plant 4 Bowden stall, which is open four days a week:
Wednesday: 4 – 9pm
Thursday: 10 – 2pm
Friday: 5 – 9pm
Saturday: 9 – 2pm
