If you love a good laugh, good tunes and want to support a very important charity then Comedy For a Cause is just for you.
For one night only, it is bringing together a lineup of two of SA’s finest and funniest comedians and performers, with live tunes by Josh Phillips Music and comedy performances by married couple Boo and Micky Dwyer aka Micky D.
The event will be held at the spectacular and multi-award-winning venue, Lake Breeze in Langhorne Creek on Saturday 19th November and will feature a live auction as well as cocktail specials throughout the night. On arrival you’ll be treated to a free drink, before tucking into a 3-course meal as you enjoy the show.
Lake Breeze Restaurant and Events Manager Ashleigh Hocking has organised the event with the aim of raising $6000 for a foundation that is close to her heart called the Love, Hope and Gratitude Foundation.
Ashleigh is raising the money as part of the Adventure All Stars: Legends television series, which is being filmed in February 2023. The television series casts real-life people who get to experience incredible locations around the world whilst enjoying fun activities and adventurous experiences.
To be eligible, cast members must raise a minimum of $6000 for a chosen charity.
Ashleigh has previously featured on the show and was invited back by Troy Gray, the Executive Producer of Adventure All Stars to appear on the Legends series next year.
Ashleigh was involved in the Highlights of the Heysen in 2007 and then as part of a trip to Kangaroo Island in 2008.
She said it was an easy answer when asked by Gray to be a part of the new series in 2023. “When Troy rang me to come on the Legends series it was a definite yes.
“It was one of the best things I have ever done, the camaraderie between the group and getting to know everyone is something I will always remember.”
Ashleigh said she chose the Love, Hope and Gratitude Foundation for the Legends series as it was founded by the mother of a school friend who had been a past victim of domestic violence, and she wanted to choose a cause that she was passionate about.
The cause aims to stop domestic violence and support victims of abuse and homelessness.
