events-bannerOne of the region’s most popular events is on again! Join us over the weekend of August 9th and 10th when back vintages and museum wines of Langhorne Creek will be unearthed and waiting to be discovered by you! Take a rare opportunity to experience these otherwise unavailable wines while visiting the charming cellar doors throughout the Langhorne Creek wine region.

This exclusive opportunity to taste and purchase wines from extraordinary vintages is one not to be missed. With 7 cellar doors to visit and one winery opening its doors for tastings this weekend only, it’s a whole weekend of discovering hidden treasures – local produce, stories, personalities, delicious food and most importantly, great wine!

Enjoy a relaxing day in majestic River Red Gum country at beautiful Langhorne Creek and embrace the chance to taste and learn about the region’s grape history and vintage wines. Meet the makers who will be on hand to introduce the wines, offer unique insights to their production and answer any questions you may have.

To emphasise the great tasting experience that is on offer for your tastebuds, there are some delicious foods to try over the weekend too. You’ll find crispy pork dumplings and cheesecake with sticky wine glaze at The Winehouse; lamb or chicken casseroles with red wine at Bleasdale, soup and chunky steak pies at Angas Plains, or slow-cooked beef cheeks and a Thai coriander curry at Lake Breeze.

Do a vertical tasting of your favourite wines and see how they’ve changed over the years, or simply compare two with a side by side tasting. It’s a taste of Langhorne Creek history in a glass (or two).

Less than an hour’s drive from Adelaide and 10 minutes from Strathalbyn, the picturesque trip to Langhorne Creek is just part of the delight of the weekend!

If you’re looking for a short getaway, why not stay at a superb Langhorne Creek B&B or the nearby Strath Motel and make a weekend of it! Visit www.langhornecreek.com for more information.
